CREATIVE BOOTCAMP 2020
“INTERSPACED”
Can the spark of creativity still ignite when we are socially distant in the vacuum of our homes? Physical proximity with personal presence has been our motto and model for over 13 years at VISCOM/RADIUS and now at IntersectLA. We’ve always said that the most successful students spend countless hours at our studio interacting, working, learning, and mentoring one other.
This year, we are challenged with stay-at-home orders and a virtual representation of our studio, our process, and ourselves. This is why the theme for our 2020 Creative Bootcamp is “Interspaced,” which means to fill or occupy the space between. The objective is for our creative student strategists — studying and pursuing careers in art, design, cinema, marketing, user experience, public relations, computer science, and journalism — to grow together, learn together, and challenge each other to push their norms in order to adapt and evolve in the new “Interspaced” learning/working paradigm.
Bootcamp is now an annual tradition for our high-impact university center, with a focus on student success in research and creative work for communication design, branding, marketing, and user/customer experiences. We are a multidisciplinary group of youthful, talented, passionate learners and educators who believe in our capacity to advance and change the world.
